Traditional and intercessory prayers

Marian, Family, Church and Intercessory Prayers

Pray slowly, reverently and with confidence in God’s mercy.

The Angelus
The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary. And she conceived of the Holy Spirit. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. Behold the handmaid of the Lord. Be it done unto me according to thy word. Hail Mary... And the Word was made flesh. And dwelt among us. Hail Mary... Pray for us, O holy Mother of God. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Let us pray: Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts, that we, to whom the Incarnation of Christ Thy Son was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
Prayer Before Holy Communion

In the name of God the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ,
I come before You with humility, faith, and love as I prepare to receive You in the Holy Eucharist.

I believe that You are truly present, Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity, in the Most Blessed Sacrament. I adore You as my Lord, my Savior, and my God. John 6:51 to 58

Cleanse my heart from sin, forgive my failings, and help me approach Your holy table with sincere repentance, reverence, and a pure heart. Remove from me whatever is displeasing to You, and increase within me faith, hope, charity, humility, and holiness.

Jesus, I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed. Matthew 8:8

As I receive Your Sacred Body and Precious Blood, unite me more closely to You. John 6:53 to 56 Strengthen me against temptation, heal the wounds of my heart and soul, and fill me with Your grace and peace.

May this Holy Communion draw me deeper into Your love, strengthen me to live according to Your will, and prepare me for eternal life with You. John 6:54

Jesus, remain in me, and may I remain always in You. John 6:56 John 15:4 to 5

Amen.

Prayer After Holy Communion

In the name of God the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ,
I thank You for the precious gift of Yourself in the Holy Eucharist.

Thank You for coming into my heart and soul. Thank You for Your Sacred Body and Precious Blood, for Your mercy, Your sacrifice on the Cross, and the eternal life You offer to those who believe in You and receive You. John 6:51 to 58

Jesus, remain with me, and help me to remain in You. John 15:4 to 5 Let the grace of this Holy Communion bear lasting fruit in my life. Purify my thoughts, words, desires, and actions. Strengthen everything within me that is good and heal whatever needs Your mercy.

Make my heart more like Yours, humble, pure, loving, merciful, patient, and obedient to the Father.

Protect me from sin and from everything that would separate me from You. Give me strength to carry my cross faithfully, wisdom to recognize Your will, and courage to follow You wherever You lead.

May Your presence within me overflow into love for others. Help me to forgive, to serve, to speak with kindness, to defend what is true, and to become a faithful witness of Your Gospel.

Jesus, I give You my life, my plans, my concerns, my future, and everything that I am. Keep me close to Your Sacred Heart and never allow me to be separated from You.

May this Holy Communion strengthen me on my journey toward holiness and, when my earthly life is complete, bring me into everlasting communion with You in Heaven. John 6:54

Jesus, I trust in You.
Jesus, remain with me.
Jesus, make me wholly Yours.

Amen.
